🔧 Model/Function Builder

Explore one model at a time: picking a model replaces the editor below with just that model's block, and the parameter fields rewrite the YAML as you type. Build a full pipeline in Advanced Configuration further down.

Copies a ready-to-run Pyxel config. The builder now emits real Pyxel directly — top-level exposure: / observation: / calibration:, the detector block, and the grouped pipeline — so Copy hands back what you see. Pasted or older configs are tidied on the way out.

🛰️ Advanced Configuration

Assemble a full pipeline here — running mode, detector, and model steps are merged into the builder's YAML above as you choose them. Hand edits to that YAML are kept until you change a control here, which rebuilds the file.

Running Mode

How the simulation runs: one frame (Exposure), a parameter sweep (Observation), or a fit to measured data (Calibration). It sets the config's top-level block, not detector behaviour. Focal Plane Array is the exception — it replaces the sections below.

Pipeline Presets

Ready-made model stacks. Clicking one replaces whatever is in the pipeline builder below, so pick a preset first and customise afterwards.

Pipeline Builder

Add, remove, or drag to reorder model steps. Order matters within a stage, but the stages themselves always run in Pyxel's fixed order however you arrange them here.

    Detector Type

    Sets which parameters and validation rules apply, and fills the fields below with starting values — a detector class gives generic defaults, a named preset gives a real device's numbers.

    🔒 Privacy & Telemetry

    Each time the Lab opens, it sends one anonymous visit count: just "the Lab was opened", with no ID, no cookie, and nothing stored on your device. It is how the Lab knows whether anyone uses it at all.

    Everything else is off by default. If you turn sharing on below, the Lab also shares how it gets used: which sections you view and for how long, which buttons you press, and which validation rules your configuration triggers and where in the structure they happen. This shows which parts help and which confuse.

    It never sends the contents of your configuration, the values you type, a shared link's contents, or anything that could identify you. There are no accounts and no advertising trackers. If your browser sends Do Not Track, nothing is sent at all, not even the visit count. You can turn sharing off again at any time, right here.
