Working on the package itself? Clone the repo and install it editable instead — pip install -e ".[mcp,rag]" from pyxel-config-core/.

Requires Python 3.10+.

The deep check needs Pyxel

Checking a config needs nothing beyond the package: it validates against the Pyxel schema bundled inside it. The deep check is the exception. It hands the config to Pyxel’s own loader, so Pyxel has to be installed beside it:

pip install pyxel-sim

Without Pyxel, the deep check reports that it was skipped, and the command line exits with 3 (“could not run”) rather than claiming the config passed. See the deep check for what it adds.
